Broyhill French Provincial Tallboy Dresser Chest of Drawers, c. 1960s–1970s
Broyhill French Provincial Tallboy Dresser Chest of Drawers, c. 1960s–1970s
Details
An elegant tallboy dresser likely by Broyhill or Caldwell, dating to circa 1960s. The only marking we have for these pieces is a factory production punch card in which the name of the manufacturer was cut off, leaving only "LL Furniture Company, Lenoir, NC". A little research indicates that it was either Broyhill or Caldwell Furniture Company, Lenoir, NC and both made furniture of this style in that time period. If my memory serves me right, Broyhill was particularly popular in Miami at the time so my hunch points at Broyhill. Designed in the timeless French Provincial style, its tall, graceful silhouette and classic European-inspired detailing give the piece a refined presence while providing five generous drawers with ample storage possibilities without requiring a large footprint. Perfect for a bedroom, dressing room, guest room, or even an entry where additional storage is needed, the vertical form makes this chest particularly useful in smaller spaces. Its romantic French styling pairs beautifully with French Country, Traditional, Grandmillennial, and collected interiors. A handsome and practical vintage Bernhardt piece combining quality craftsmanship, ample drawer storage, and enduring French-inspired design. Please see other bedroom pieces in this collection in separate listings.
